Somewhat Important Note:

Due to the popularity of the blog, I receive numerous Facebook requests before potential snowstorms. Although I am flattered that you want to follow me on Facebook, I would ask that you not friend request me unless you know me in real life. It's nothing personal, I've just decided I don't want too many friends on Facebook.

Thanks, John

Obviously

Obviously, the heavy precipitation that fell today fell as rain, due to it being warmer than expected. Combine that with the fact that we only got about half an inch of snow this morning, and it's obvious that this storm was a bust, even if we get the upper end of the 1-3" expected by tomorrow afternoon.

Chances are, we'll have a favorable storm track and cold enough temperatures for some decent snow on Saturday. But that obviously won't help us too much as far as snow days go.

Beyond that, it is definitely possible that we won't have any more major snowstorms, as the weather looks to warm up towards the end of February and early March. The end of winter may soon be in sight.

i had a feeling we weren't going to get a lot of snow.

but, you never know. isnt there that occasional last-second winter gasp in march?

Yes, there's usually one last nice blizzard in March for someone.

For example, many places in Ohio were in the same spot last year that we were this year - just on the warm side of a lot of major storms. Then, in March of last year, they got a major blizzard which buried many places in that state under 2' of snow.

Saturday is starting to look good for several inches.

Wow. I think that last comment was entirely unecessary. Nobody can predict the weather in it's entirety. Not even a trained professional. And John tries his best. If you aren't happy with his predictions, you don't honestly have to read them. -.-
Love ya John!

It was a bad winter season with not much for john to work with, so don't go saying he lost his touch, which is entirely untrue.
