Northern stream energy is going to try and phase (combine) with southern stream energy, which will likely give a lot of people a nice snowstorm on Thursday-Friday. Essentially, the better the phase between these two pieces of energy, the farther north and west this system will track. At this time, I do not feel that a major snowfall for SE Michigan from this system is particularly likely, as the system will likely track too far south to give SE Michigan a good hit. However, it is something to keep an eye on. In any case, you guys will likely receive at least minor accumulations from it on Thursday Night.
Beyond that, the next system looks to impact SE Michigan around next Monday.

You were right on with your prediction this morning John - a little freezing rain at around 6 am and then it turned to heavy,wet, snow. Great job! We love your blog in Lake Orion so keep it up beyond this year!
I agree with Sooz. I teach in a district near lake orion and often plan my week based partially on your predictions. You should add a paypal donate button somewhere. I would donate and assume others would as well.

I do not believe Lake Orion will have a snow day tomorrow. Obviously I'm not in LO to judge...but someone told me some of the roads are frozen over. As far as I know, however, they've only called a snow day once due to roads freezing over and from what I remember people got mad about that. So I doubt they'd do it again...
